Aje Soberekon

Aje Soberekon is a multidisciplinary designer based in Los Angeles, originally from Chicago and Nigeria. He holds dual degrees in Architecture and Theatre Design & Production from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and an MFA in Experience Design and Production, specializing in Scenic Design. Aje’s work spans film, television, and live performance, with experience as a production assistant, set dresser, art production assistant, set designer, art director, and production designer. In theatre, he has designed scenic environments for stage and live performance, alongside teaching and instructional experience. Aje approaches storytelling through the creation of narrative environments, using space, material, and texture as primary tools. Working with fabric and imagery, he builds layered worlds where tension, movement, and audience perception shape the story. His practice spans theatre, film, and installation.
