Ethan Eldred is a designer, musician, and technologist whose practice centers on the technical and experiential connectivity at the intersections of performance design. Guided by cognitive science, community, and curiosity, he uses technology to connect artists and audiences in shared experiences of immersive and unique sensations, stories, and idea. In recent years his tools have included spatial audio, code, machine learning, and IT/networking, but also poetry, deep listening, and cello improvisation.

Highlight projects include La Jolla Playhouse's 2023 dance-theatre work Is It Thursday Yet? (Associate Sound/Video), 2017 Capital Fringe play This Too Comes by Hard (Sound/Composition), 2023's KAHNOP, a performance event for the premiere of the Anne Hamilton work of the same name (Associate Sound/Lighting), and A(m)I(?) — Ethan’s own immersive multimedia work-in-progress, inspired by Frankenstein.
