Mac McDermott

Mac McDermott is a Lighting Designer based out of Southern California. Originally raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He moved to California to pursue his MFA from the University of California, Irvine, after receiving his Bachelor of Arts from Xavier University. Mac has gotten to work across a variety of genres, but specializes in realism, magical realism and dance lighting. He has had the pleasure of working with renowned theaters such as the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Okoboji Summer Theater, South Coast Repertory and the Pasadena Playhouse. Outside of the theater, Mac is an avid photographer, cataloging his travels across the country. He enjoys working the regional circuit because it gives him a chance to see parts of the country he has never gotten to visit before. Mac is also a frequent baker with a notorious sweet tooth. He often bakes cookies or other treats for the cast and crew for the first night of tech.
