Nelly Gontika

Nelly Gontika is a Costume Designer & Set Designer based in Athens, Greece. She graduated from the School of Film, in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Over the years she has worked as a Costume Designer Assistant, Costumer, Set Designer Assistant  & Set Designer in numerous audiovisual projects. She was Set Designer Assistant & Costumer, in short film "The Chaos She Left Behind" (dir. Nikos Kolioukos), which premiered at 77th Cannes Film Festival 2024, where it was awarded 2nd Prize in La Cinef. She has worked with Greek National Opera, in the opera “La Traviata”, by G. Verdi, and in the operetta “I Want to See the Pope”, by Th. Sakellaridis.

She loves textures and colours and she tries to make the actors feel comfortable in what they wear.  She believes that it's important to make the costumes and sets be both functional for the shootings and helpful for the actors.
