Zelia ZZ Tan

Zelia ZZ TAN's creations explore the future between theater and installation, focusing on presence and identity, and she develops hybrid performances using motion capture, XR, avatars, and immersive technologies. Zelia directed REfract (2025), a hybrid performance featuring a solo dancer interacting with avatars and VR technology, commissioned by the West Kowloon Cultural District and co-produced with the Goethe-Institut, presented at Gray Area, the Game Development Conference, and other venues. She designed video projection for live performances, including Last Days of Judas Iscariot, Half God of Rainfall and Living Landscape. Zelia received her MFA at CalArts, double-majoring in Interactive Media for Performance (Theatre) and Choreography (Dance).
